ACTING
LIVING SOUL AND SPIRIT OF OTHERS
Acting is one of the biggest passions for Philipp Schmidt. Through acting he immerses himself into different worlds and when he assumes a unique role he brings the scenery to bold life. Especially the psychological act of change in identity and mindset is something he deems as a most desirable challenge. His wish for the exploration of other worlds through the eyes of the protagonists drives him constantly.

EACH ROLE ENTAILS A WHOLE LIFE
The history and the creation of each figure conforms with the sum of all experiences, which forms a life and defines an individual as it is. As an actor, it is of vital importance to play different characters, to merge with them und thus make the different facets of human history and psychological domains come to life for the spectator.

PERSONAL DETAILS

IN BETWEEN WORLDS
The art of acting is an option for Philipp Schmidt not only to cross over into other mental and emotional positions but also to transfer into completely other worlds.
The process of development of a figure and the translation into a different mindset as well as the preservation of a complete life within a role are all things that constitute his acting motivation.
Very early on, Philipp Schmidt attended an Acting School in Berlin, where he acquired various techniques of acting performance, such as rhetorical and vocal techniques, scenic combat, role study, dramatic composition and singing.
He collected his first experiences on theatre stage with classic plays such as Goethe‘s Faust or more modern ones such as Bonnie and Clyde. Later, he had different takes in cinematic, television and short film productions.
Philipp‘s shaping of a character has many facets and the alignment of a figure can entangle many layers. The focus of his working method is fundamentally set in the art of Method Acting by Lee Strassberg.
With his understanding of psychoanalysis, psychotherapy as well as depth analytical processes by Sigmund Freud and Carl Gustav, further with a profound general knowledge in history, arts, politics and ethics, Philipp Schmidt is more than capable of developing and „living“ intricate figures.
