After studying „Medienbildung – Visuelle Kultur und Kommunikation“ and „German Philology and European History“ at the Otto-von-Guericke University in Magdeburg, Philipp Schmidt moved to Berlin to inscribe for the „Screen Based Media“-Studies Programme at the „Beuth-Hochschule für Technik“, which he passed succesfully in summer of 2017 with the Bachelor of Arts. His academic thesis scored grade 1.0 with the topic „Subliminale Beeinflussung innerhalb des audiovisuellen Mediums Film – wie die Verwendung archetypischer Symbole im Film den Zuschauer beeinflussen kann“ / „Subliminal influence within the audiovisual medium film – how the utilization of archetypical symbols in movies can influence the audience“.
He worked for some years at the theater in Magdeburg, gaining some insight experience in the domain of theater engineering. He made an internship at Insight Film on the public TV-Show „Ijon Tichy: Raumpilot 2“, where he had a leading part in camera and light production. He was also the double of main actor Oliver Jahn.
He assigned for an internship for Alexander Sexus Ltd. to join the production of „Blissestraße“. He worked in production management and as assistant for direction, for the chief lighting technician and the camera team. He assumed the acting role of the doctor.
